Dear St. Gerald Giant Families,
Welcome back to the 2022-2023 school year! I hope you all had a safe and enjoyable summer. Although there have been unexpected changes this summer and a few challenges, I am excited to serve as your interim principal. For those whom I have not met, my name is Mrs. Theresa Fiscella. I have been blessed to teach at St. Gerald School for the past 47 years. Together with our dedicated, talented, and wonderful faculty and staff, we have been preparing to make this a great school year. We are committed to providing our students with a year filled with challenging and engaging educational experiences and opportunities. As always, keeping your children safe will be our number one priority.
In addition, I will be writing a monthly newsletter. I will be emailing it to you on the last Thursday of the month, and it will include upcoming events, information, and dates needed to keep you informed in a timely manner. The newly formed Home and School Association, the SGAC, and other school organizations will also continue to update you as needed on Thursdays throughout the month. The first day of school for Grades 1-8 is Wednesday, August 24, 2022. The school doors will open at 7:50am and dismissal at 11:00am. Homeroom lists will be displayed on the junior high classroom doors, grades 6-8. On August 25, 2022, we will begin our first full day of school. Preschool and Kindergarten parents, please read the important information below regarding the beginning days of school for your children. If you have any questions, please feel free to email Mrs. Noreen Hosty for Kindergarten [email protected] or Mrs. Kim Reardon for Preschool [email protected].
Students may wear their gym uniforms to school the first couple of weeks of school. We will begin regular uniforms on September 12, 2022. For more information regarding our uniform policy, please check the online Parent Student Handbook on St. Gerald School website.
For arrival on Wednesday, August 24, students should plan to enter the doors as indicated below. They will dismiss through the same doors. If a student arrives after 8:00am, the student must enter through Door 1, the office door. Also, please see below our dismissal schedule for half days, early dismissal days, and regular school days.
