St. Gerald School offers many ways for students to get involved beyond the academic day.
Running Club - Held in both the spring and fall, Running Club includes students in 3rd through 6th grades.
Service Club - 8th grade students give service to their school each afternoon by cleaning classrooms and other areas of the school.
Engineering Club - This class takes a hands-on approach to engineering, allowing students to directly engage with basic engineering concepts through a variety of fun and educational activities. Students will improve their problem solving, math, and physics skills – all while engaging in exciting building projects. Open to grades 1-6.
Spanish Club - Current research has found a positive link between learning a second language and cognitive and academic ability. In addition to developing a lifelong skill to communicate with people from other countries and backgrounds, other benefits include improved overall school performance and higher problem-solving skills. Open to grades K-5.
Chess Club - Develop your child’s intellect through the royal game of chess! Current research has shown a strong link between chess and academic performance in a variety of areas, including mathematics and language arts. Also, chess has been proven to enhance motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, and creativity. Open to grades K-8.
Stage Stars - Have fun after school learning acting! Current research has shown a strong link between drama performance and academic performance in a variety of areas, including the language arts and mathematics. Also, drama experience has been proven to enhance children's communication skills, motivation, concentration, focus, social skills, and creativity. Open to grades K-3.
Patrol - All 6th grade children participate in patrol duty at the school doors and 55th Court corner.
Rainbows for All God's Children - This is a peer support group for children who have experienced loss.
Yearbook - 7th and 8th grade students are welcome to join the yearbook staff, which meets weekly after school starting in November of each school year.
Morning Announcement Team - 6th, 7th and 8th graders have the opportunity to be the school's morning news announcer. Students do morning announcements on a rotating basis.
Young Rembrandts - A Wednesday after-school drawing class offered in October.
Sports - The St. Gerald Athletic Club (SGAC) sponsors the parish sports program, which is open to all St. Gerald School and REY students. Please refer to their website for more information. http://sgac.website.sportssignup.com/
Children's Theater - Students are immersed in a one-week intensive theatre training program by Missoula Children's Theatre and hold performances for the school community at the end of the week.
Choir - Students have the opportunity to sing in choir.
Cub and Boy Scouts - St. Gerald Parish has an active and involved Scouting program for boys.
Girl Scouts - The parish also has a thriving Scouting program for girls of all ages.
Altar Servers - St. Gerald Parish has altar servers from both St. Gerald School and the REY program.
School Band- Students are given the opportunity to join the band, learning to play their instrument of choice.
National Junior Honor Society - . For children in Junior High who have good grades and recommendations from their teachers. They conduct service projects.
